Obituary reads as follows OBITUARY
Milton C. Lamm, son of Reuben and Keziah Lamm, was born in Ohio August 25,
1840. He moved with his parents when quite young to Henry County, IA. When he
was 17 years old his father died, there being eleven children in the family and
he being the oldest, together with his mother, assumed the responsibility of
caring for the large family and underwent many hardships and privations of
pioneer life, all of which, he performed his part faithfully and well until
after his mother's death a few years later when the children were scattered and
placed in various homes. After this he served as a soldier in Co. K. 15th
regiment, Iowa infantry of the Civil War. After returning home from the war he
was united in marriage to Barbara Macy June 24, 1866 to this union was born
four children, three of whom are now living, Orlando E. of Denver, who was
present when he passed away, and Albert of Alton, KS., and Mrs. A. B. Hitt of
Los Angeles, Cal.
His wife died April 4, 1876, leaving him alone to care for the children. He took
a homestead near Alton in Osborne county. On November 4, 1880, he married Lucy
E. Jay, who still survives him. To this union were born six children, who were
present when he passed away. These are Jesse E. of Ruleton, KS., Orville R. of
Simla, CO., Jane A., Carl M., Jay D. and Guy E. of Ramah, CO. The deceased with
his family lived thirty years on his homestead in Kansas until the spring of
1907, when he with his family moved near Ramah where he resided until the time
of death, April 2, 1919.
He was a birthright member of the Friends church until he was disowned because
of his loyalty to his country, as it was against the rules of the church to
bear arms. After returning home from was he was taken in the church again of
which he remained a faithful member until his death. He had been in failing
health for two years, but was able to go about until about two weeks before he
passed to the Great Beyond. He often expressed the desire to quietly fall
asleep, which was granted and he passed away with out a struggle, full of
confidence in his Savior and a better life. Out of his father's large family
only two brothers survive him, Jesse S. of Pleasant Plains, IA., an Albert of
Salem, IA., who was present when he passed away. He leaves to mourn their loss
a devoted wife, nine children, twenty-for grandchildren, four great
grandchildren and a host of friends.
He was a kind loving husband and devoted father.
Funeral services were held in the Presbyterian church at Ramah, conducted by
Rev. C. S. Steinmetz on Simla and the remains were laid to rest in the Ramah
Cemetery, Ramah, El Paso County, CO. His second wife Lucy is also buried there
in Apr 1919.

At the age of 16 she married to Eli HOCKETT. Six children were born to this

Nebraska. On March 14, 1897, Cora M. Hitt gave birth to Lola P. Hitt in the
town of Pomona in Los Angeles County, California. In 1902, Cora and Albert Hitt
moved from Nebraska to the City of Los Angeles in Los Angeles County,
California. Prior to 1914, the Family had moved to Riverside, California. On
December 10, 1914, Albert B. Hitt purchased a house on the South-east corner of
Arlington Ave. and El Padro St. (This property is located approximately. 300
feet west of the corner of Magnolia Ave & Arlington Avenue). This property
is described as being on Lots 4 & 5 of the resubdivision of El Padro Rancho
as per map of record in the Book of Maps # 9, Page # 72, records of Riverside
County. The Deed covering this Sale from the Rubidoux Building Co. to Albert B.
Hitt was recorded on December 23, 1914, and copied in Book # 409 of Deeds on
Page # 104. Elmer A. Gates is not aware of the purpose or the intented use of
this property. At this point in time ( 4-22-93 ), it is assumed that this was
strictly an investment piece of property. * On December 19, 1914 - Albert B.
Hitt and Cora M. Hitt bought a large 2-story house on Third Street (Lot # 8 of
C. H. Greenshaw's Resubdivision of Block # 2 Range 8, Riverside, California.)
in the City of Riverside in Riverside County, California. The map shows 6 lots
facing south on Third Street between Market and Almond Streets. Lot # 8 - (55'
x 150') is the Fifth lot west of Market Street, or the Second lot east of
Almond Street. The purchase price paid for the property was $ 2,250.00. The
Deed was recorded on December 23, 1914 at 50 minutes past 10 o'clock at the
request of the Riverside Title Company. Copied in Book # 409 on Page # 104. Grandma
Cora Hitt found that this house was much too large for her family, so it was
sold in the latter part of 1915. In the 1914 Riverside City Directory on page

is listed at 879 Third St. Telephone 6 + L. This Directory can be found in the
Riverside Main Public Library at the corner of Orange & Eighth Streets * On
September 17, 1915 - A. B. Hitt and Cora M. Hitt purchased a smaller house on
Cover Street in the south part of Riverside, approximately. 2 miles south of
downtown City of Riverside. Cover St is located one block south of Jurupa Ave.
& it runs west of Brockton Avenue. This property is described as being: On
lots # 69 & 70 (Which are located on the south side of Cover St. and they
are separated by eleven (11) lots ( apart) of Groftholdt Subdivision as shown
by Map on file in Book # 7 on Page # 31. The Sale was made 'Subject to a trust
deed of $ 1,500.00, as now of record, covering lot 59 only above described. The
Deed was recorded on January 31, 1916 in Book # 422 on Page # 23. It should be
noted that Elmer A. Gates has no knowledge as to the time period of occupancy
of this property *. On January 28,1916 - Grandpa and Grandma Hitt sold the
Cover Street house for the same consideration as what they had paid for it. By
the year of 1916, the A. B. Hitt family had returned to the City of Los
Angeles, California In 1930, Cora and Albert Hitt moved to 1618 Ellis Lane in
the Town of Rosemead in Los Angeles County, California. After Jan. 6, 1945,
Cora M. Hitt moved to 917 E. 65th Street in the City of Inglewood in Los
Angeles County, California. She lived with her daughter, Elsie B. Rutter until
she died in 1950. Cora May Hitt died in the City of Inglewood in Los Angeles
County, California according to the 1950-1959 State of California Death records
on Card # 0030 on Page # 7,939. Refer to the State of California Registrar #

Obituary reads as follows OBITUARY
Carl M. Lamm was born June 28th, 1884 near Alton, Kansas, and passed away in a
Colorado Springs hospital December 25th, 1954 at the age of 70 years, 3 months
and 27 days.
He resided near his birthplace until 1905 when he moved in a covered wagon to
Colorado near Ramah, where he homesteaded. In 1910, he was united in marriage
to Thyra A. Lind. To this union were born six children: Glenn, Victor, Ben,
Millard, Hildegarde, and Ansel.
He took an active part in the Farmers Union at Simla, Colorado. He helped in
the building of the Evangelical Church in Simla by giving of his time and
money. In 1921 he united with the Evangelical Church by letter from the Friends
Church and remained a member until his departing from this life.
Forty-four years were spent on the original homestead following which he moved
to Colorado Springs. His long-suffering due to illness revealed the fruits of
the Spirit as mentioned in Gal. 5:22 "But the fruit of the Sprit is love,
joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and
Temperance."
He is survived by his wife, Thyra, daughter Hildegarde, of Colorado Springs;
his sons, Victor and Ben of Colorado Springs; Glenn, Millard and Ansel of
Ramah; six grandchildren; two brothers, Guy E. Lamm of Matheson, and Orville
Lamm of California; one sister, Jane A. Lamm of Simla, and one half-brother,
Elmer Lamm, of California.
Funeral services were conducted from the Swan funeral home in Colorado Springs
last Wednesday at 2:00 P.M. The Rev. Marvin Hudson officiated. Clifford Brown
of Colorado Springs sang "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere," "Beyond
the Sunset," "What a Friend We Have in Jesus," and
"Unclouded Day."Pallbearers were Richard Churchwell, Orville Shelton,
Milton Lamm, Robert Lamm, Billy Ray Lamm, and Guy Lamm, Jr. Honorary
pallbearers were Aud Shelton, Green Christian, Tom Gammon, Tom Eppler, Ralph
DeBord and Oren Hartsel.
Mr. Lamm was laid to rest in the Colorado Memorial Shrine cemetery of Colorado
Springs.

Guy and Anna Lamm lived on a farm several miles west and north of Matheson,
Colorado. The farm was suited for dry land farming and it was situated on
rolling ground. I first visited Uncle Guy and Aunt Anna during the early part
of May of 1943, while I was stationed at Lowery Field just outside of Denver,
Colorado. I had a weekend pass, and as I left Denver it was snowing. Uncle Guy
met me at the train station at Lemon, Colorado. The snow storm continued for
the next few days. I had a good visit with everyone. I should mention that this
was my first encounter with a deaf person, but everyone made me feel
comfortable and at home. I was given a very short lesson on Sign Language, but
I must admit I didn't do too good. My next visit with Uncle Guy and Aunt Anna
occurred shortly after Iolla and I were married on we stopped overnight
sometime during the early part of August of 1946. We traveled from Riverside to
Reno where we visited my sister Marie. Then, we went east to Salt Lake City,
Utah and continued onto Denver, Colorado before turning south to Colorado
Springs where we spent the day going through the Garden of the Gods. As I
recall, none of the children were home at the time of our visit. We stayed
overnight, and then continued on Eastward and eventually ending out trip at
Lansing, Michigan, where I enrolled in the Department of Electrical Engineering
